Board of Directors

United Faith Christian Academy’s Board of Directors are dedicated to operating and assisting UFCA in honoring Christ and committed to providing a Christian education challenging the soul, spirit and body, to our students from all walks of life.  The Board serves as the entity steering the long-term development of this school. Currently, this role includes developing and establishing policies and procedures for the operations of the school and for the betterment of the community it serves; monitoring and ensuring fiscal responsibility and decisions, striving to represent the views and interests of the school family; as well as monitoring and evaluating the school’s programs and performance. The Board also provides oversight to the head of school. In addition, we provide support to the head of school for certain decisions pertaining to faculty and staff and confidently support our highly qualified faculty and staff, who with prayer, compassion, and with wisdom, are charged to direct day-to-day school operations and activities. Board members are volunteers and bring a wide array of professional experience and perspectives. It is the Board’s constant prayer that its decisions are wise, unified, and led by the Holy Spirit as we to seek to resolve all issues in Christian love and in accordance with Matthew 18.

The Board of Directors for the 2017-18 school year are:


Amy Godley is the Chairman the Board of Directors for the 2016-17 school year.  Amy served as At-Large Member during the 2015-16 school year.  Amy and her husband Mark have two children, Callie class of 2026 and Ashton class of 2028.  Amy is a Charlotte native and completed undergraduate studies at Queen’s University in Business and graduate studies at UNC-Charlotte in Public Administration. Her past roles as a professor at area colleges and universities as well as career positions at CPCC help bring experience in the academic community for strategic planning, program development and outreach. Amy is currently active in residential, commercial and property management real estate and is a licensed realtor in North and South Carolina.  By nurturing and fostering relationships Amy believes God can use her local knowledge, skills set and past experience to further His work at UFCA. She believes God reveals himself in the ordinary and extraordinary and as a board member aims to apply Biblical standards to help build a unified school body that seeks to love, honor and glorify God in all they do.


Vice Chairman:

Carlon Lewis is beginning his second year as a member of the UFCA family. Carlon and his wife, Michelle, have two children: Auston UFCA class of 2018 and Kelly, a graduate of the University of Georgia. Carlon is the plant manager at Coca-Cola Bottling Company Consolidated in Charlotte. He brings 29 years of leadership experience that includes strategic planning, project management and p/L responsibility. He is also the incoming chairman and board member for the Coca-Cola Global Manufacturer’s Advisory Council. Carlon is a servant leader who has a passion for removing obstacles in an effort to allow others to maximize their potential. He is thankful that God has provided opportunities for him to support education and young people throughout his career.


Markus Moore is a member of the Board of Directors and has been in the UFCA family for several years.  He is married to Alisa and has three children: Gabriel at Covenant Day School class of 2016,  Kamryn, UFCA class of 2017, and his youngest daughter, Naomi UFCA class of 2030.  Markus is the Manager of Construction Services for the
Southeast Region of Ameresco, Inc., an energy services firm.  He also is a certified part-time Math Instructor at Central Piedmont Community College and is a part-time radio announcer at Christian radio station WOGR.  Markus brings an engineering, construction, and maintenance background to the Board.  In addition, having been involved in youth ministry for 20 years, Markus brings a passion to see youth embrace Christ and education.  He currently serves as a team leader in Children’s Church, in youth ministry, drama ministry, and jail/prison ministry at his church Victory Christian Center.  He has a heart and passion for God and believes he was led by God to serve UFCA in his current capacity.  Markus’ email is 


Member At-Large

David G. Norvell is a new addition to the 2016/17 UFCA Board of Directors and is heading into his third year in the UFCA family. He is married to his wonderful wife Ann Marie and has 2 children: Victoria, UFCA class of 2020 and Silas, UFCA class of 2027. A Senior Regulatory Oversight Principal for TIAA,  David brings over 20 years of experience in the financial and investment industries. A passion for serving the Lord by serving others, he has spearheaded several successful donation campaigns to support local charities such as; The Salvation Army Center of Hope and The Crossnore School , a sanctuary for abused children that have been removed from their homes. David believes that using time and finances wisely are necessary in aiding in God’s work. His previous volunteer work with Myers Park United Methodist Church’s VBS program, as CHAMP (Children Achieving Maximum Potential) mentor and his philanthropic support of various programs have left a strong impression on his children, molding them into future community supporters of tomorrow. It is through these actions, that God can continue working through David and the entire Norvell family to support UFCA’s continued growth.

Member At-Large

Victoria Council is a new addition to the 2017/18 UFCA Board of Directors, and has been with the UFCA family for over a year. Victoria and her husband, Joel have two daughters: Clara class of 2024, and Victoria class of 2021.Victoria was born and raised in New York, and moved here with her family in 2006. She sang with the famous Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir and served with the Womens Ministry, as a teacher and worship leader for many years. She now serves in the Pastoral Department at Central Church where she has worked for many years. She also sings with the Sanctuary Choir at her Church. Her passion and desire is to serve young people and families by being a hand extended for Christ. Her heart is to share the Gospel with others especially with young people and helping them reach their potential. Victoria has a deep love for the UFCA families and students in seeing them grow in their relationship with Christ and each other and become all God has created them for. She is excited for the opportunity to serve in this capacity and knows God has called her, and looks forward to working together in building and supporting a beautiful hidden gem called UFCA.

The people listed above represent the leadership of the United Faith Christian Academy Corporation.  Their goal is to provide the support necessary through their expertise and resources to the administration of school.  While this group has a vast amount of varied experiences and a large network of business contacts, they are first and foremost completely committed followers of Christ who pray daily for the administration, students and families of UFCA.  They are servants and appreciate your support and prayers.
